It’s a perfect walk at the end of the day to take advantage of the still open storefronts, for a little shopping trip through Urban Outfitters and other famous brands or through the Broadway Market. Before going to dinner at Stateside or Tavolata.

Le Space Needle

This district that emerged from the ground for the Universal Exhibition of 1962 hosts the emblem of the city: the Space Needle . This tower, which was for a short time the tallest in Seattle, offers you an unprecedented 360° panorama of the entire city.

You’re going to say to me, “What’s the point of going up there if you can’t admire the skyline with the Space Needle included?” – That’s partly true. But the Space Needle is also a rotating glass floor 184m above the ground. An experience that defies the laws of weightlessness.

The space needle and its glass floor

The Space Needle is only accessible on time slots. Prefer open weather and mid/late afternoon to visit it. From 6 p.m. in summer it’s perfect! There are fewer people and you will not be against the light.

It’s a place that tempted me moderately but that we did anyway. Dale Chihuly’s works are surprising and sparkling with a thousand lights! The visit takes place inside with a delicate staging. It continues under the shadow of the Space Needle in the museum gardens and under a glass roof.

An experience that I did well to do since it is really worth a look even if it is fast. Count the excessive price of $29 for a visit before 6 p.m. and $19 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.! Currently their site displays a single rate of $26.

Museum of pop culture par frank gehry

Surely the craziest architecture in Seattle. By master Frank Gehry , this sheet metal and steel building shines in the heart of Seattle Center. Walled in silver, gold, sky blue or even copper and purple, this building is also crossed by the monorail which gives this district a futuristic look. I didn’t take the tour, but the building itself is worth the detour and some souvenir photos!

Useless but funny, it connects Westlake Central Station to Seattle Center . Fast, the 2 miles will be covered in 2 minutes! If you take it, what will mark you the most is its side straight out of a cartoon and which will take you between the walls of the Museum of Pop and the buildings.

Surely the most beautiful view in Seattle. This small park and its esplanade are the meeting point for all those who want to admire the skyscrapers and the Space Needle . In the morning very early for a beautiful sunrise, in the middle of the afternoon in order to have the best light or at sunset. The Kerry Park lockout is the place to be in Seattle! By chance, you will be able to see the immense Mount Rainier.

A few dozen meters away, go in the footsteps of Meredith Gray at 303 W Comstock Street to discover the famous house of Grey’s Anatomy . While not being intrusive since this house is inhabited.

Take the opportunity to take a quick stroll through this district of Queen Anne which, a stone’s throw from Seattle Downtown, seems to offer a sweet life with its perfectly maintained little houses.

At this location, the former gasification plant of Seattle, closed since 1956, was bought by the city in order to build the park with its incredible panorama.

You can also enjoy a superb view of all of Seattle by dipping your feet in Lake Union while watching the parade of small boats sailing on the lake.
